OUR STORY

Cyclone Trophy was founded in the 1960’s as a basement enterprise. In 1980 the business was moved to downtown Ames and expanded from strictly trophies to include awards, plaques and name tags. In August of 1987, Cyclone Trophy was purchased by Robert Allen. He renamed it Cyclone Awards & Engraving and moved it to 112 South Washington.

He purchased his first computerized engraver in 1989, and continued to expand his product line. As the business continued to grow, Mr. Allen moved the store to 107 Kellogg. In 1993 in order to meet the needs of the customers a “state of the art” laser engraver was purchased. With this new engraver Cyclone Awards was able to offer their customers a more diverse product line including the ability to engrave glass, acrylics and directly in wood.

In December of 1995, Sherri Keigan purchased the business. She has since acquired 2 more engravers, a sublimation system, hired more staff and continued to expand the product line. She moved the store to its current location, just down the street at 113 Kellogg in 2004. Cyclone Awards & Engraving Inc. has undergone a lot of changes in 50 years of business, but our dedication to customer service and quality products hasn’t changed.
